Introduction

  • Aspirin is one of the oldest and most widely used medicines in the world.
  • It belongs to the group NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

🔹 Uses

  1. Cardiovascular Protection
    • Prevents heart attacks, strokes, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs).
    • Used after angioplasty, bypass surgery, or in patients with angina.
  2. Pain Relief & Anti-inflammatory
    • Headache, toothache, muscle pain, arthritis, back pain.
  3. Fever Reduction
    • Lowers fever in infections (though paracetamol is usually preferred now).
